Worry grows for the fate of festivals in the course of 2021: let’s try to take stock of the situation.
Just two days after the announcement of the big event in the Jaarbeurs Utrecht next 3 and 4 September 2021 to celebrate the incredible milestone of the 1000 episodes of A State Of Trance, the cancellation of some events and festivals that had already been canceled at the outbreak of the Covid pandemic, draw attention: the best known case is obviously that of the Ultra Music Festival, with the show in Miami on March 26, 27 and 28.
Last night, however, according to Billboard magazine, the organizers of the event have decided to postpone the festival for the second consecutive year, next year, to the weekend of 25, 26 and 27 March 2022. In “normal” times, the Miami Ultra Music Festival hosts the US date of A State Of Trance world tour:
Although this news is disheartening for the festival scene and fans, it had been clear for some months that the events of this year’s spring would have had little chance of realization: we are at the beginning of the vaccination campaign in the world and it is possible that all events, at least those of spring, they can suffer the same fate.
Taking a look further, the thoughts of trancer go to the Luminosity Beach Festival which should take place from 24 to 27 June 2021: this festival, which sees the participation of incredible trance legends every year, was also postponed last year and it is hoped that between now and June, ways can be implemented to bring people together safely, also following a vaccination campaign that in six months, hopefully, may have begun to give the first desired results.
And of course we also think of Tomorrowland in July: here, the organizers made sure to give an answer about the actual realization of the event during the month of March.
After almost a year without concerts, it is becoming increasingly difficult, especially for insiders, to bear this situation: however, we keep our fingers crossed for what this 2021 will be able to offer, especially from the summer onwards.
