The new studio album of trance icon of Rotterdam is out in November, but everything we already know about ‘CONNECT’ is already incredible
If there were a list of the greatest trance producers of all time, it’s obvious that Ferry Corsten would be among the top positions. It doesn’t matter if the Rotterdam DJ and producer has never reached that fateful number 1 in some charts that seem prestigious: at the dawn of his nearly thirty-year career, Ferry Corsten continues his spectacular journey of trance and progressive music, which adapts to a new young audience and at the same time always embraces the classic sounds that made him famous.
Over the past twelve months, Ferry Corsten has released many new tracks, each with a different style from the other and which will make up what will be his new, announced album, titled CONNECT.
The album takes its name from one of the first singles released last year, Connect, together with Yes Man and Mind Trip: three tracks with three different styles, each of them reflecting the various styles of trance, tech-trance and progressive now unmistakable of the Rotterdam DJ.
In December 2023, Diandra Faye donated her voice for the spectacular Stay Awake: the fourth single released, an irresistible vocal trance track, where all the potential of the project rises very high, among the best vocal trance tracks released in 2023.
In conjunction with the ASOT Destination in Rotterdam, of which Ferry Corsten was one of the main protagonists, last February the fifth single was released: a wonderful collaboration with Marsh, leading progressive DJ and producer of Anjunabeats: their instrumental Fulfillment combines an elegant progressive beat with an exceptional uplifting sound that rises up to the engaging refrain, definitely among the best collaborations of this year.
In spring, Chris Howard, already present with Ferry Corsten together with Ruben de Ronde in 2021 for the beautiful Bloodstream (#2 of A State Of Trance TOP50 from 2021), lent his voice to a progressive beauty: Where The Mountains Grow, with an intense vocal part and its nostalgic motif, is one of our favorite tracks of 2024, a real journey with a melancholic sound that made us fall in love.
90s atmospheres for the following Belong To You with 22Bullets and Couchè and a touch of breaks for the catchy Just Breathe, which focuses on an obsessive and “disruptive” sound.
Chaos, on the other hand, in collaboration with Silva City, namely Alan Fitzpatrick and David Robertson, clearly has the aim of recalling the classic sound of Gouryella or System F, succeeding perfectly.
The latest single from CONNECT, Total Eclipse, was released last Friday and features once again the dark and enigmatic voice of Chris Howard, this time for a progressive breaks track that seems to act as an interlude, presumably for other intense tracks to come.
CONNECT will be released very soon on Flashover Recordings but these first ten tracks already say a lot about the excellent work done once again by Ferry Corsten: an album that already seems complete, full of emotions and each of them conveyed by a different and very high quality sound that reflects the whole history of one of the icons of world trance.
To celebrate the release of his new album, Ferry Corsten will be hosting a showcase ALREADY SOLD OUT with special guests at ADE on Saturday, October 19th:
We can’t wait to listen to this unmissable album !
