Moby and trance music meet again thanks to a long-awaited rework by Armin van Buuren of one of his most epic tracks
We were already busy telling you about another perfect year of Armin van Buuren, about all the wonderful things he has managed to do once again, but we never stop learning, because almost a month from the end of this 2024, he still has something else to give us.
Wanting to retrace only the last years of A State Of Trance boss, as good connoisseurs of musical statistics, we realize some truly impressive numbers: beyond the countless collaborations, the real strong point of the Dutchman in the last decade, what is impressive is the average of musical productions, practically equal to almost one release per week. A crazy, insane figure, considering that his fame leads him to never stop, constantly touring the world with countless dates and festivals.
So where does Armin find the time to squeeze out his musical genius ? Moby, the new guest star on his new song, will surely have asked himself this question. In reality, we are talking about a remake of Extreme Ways, a great success by the American musician from the legendary album 18, 2002. Previewed at Ultra in Miami, this track was a long time coming, Armin allows us to appreciate the original vocal return with flashes of electro and then sinks into an insane drop that enhances the dance floor.
Moby and trance music have been a winning combination in the past, the producer who most appreciated his works to make a remix is Ferry Corsten, Why Does My Heart Feel So Bad (1999) and In My Heart (2002) among those we remember the most and Tiësto who in turn proposed in the past a remix of the same Extreme Ways (in addition to his incredible remix of We Are All Made Of Stars, 2001); unforgettable finally, in more recent years, the remix of Porcelain by Above & Beyond (2017) , demonstrating the synergy between trance and his majestic works that have changed the face of electronic pop music in the last thirty years.
Armin van Buuren & Moby – Extreme Ways will be released next Friday, November 22nd via Armada Music.
