Long before the mainstream era, in what was called the “golden age” of trance music, between the end of the 1990s and the early 2000s, it dominated a name: it was that of Tijs Michiel Verwest, in art before Dj Tiësto and then more simply “Tiësto“.
We do not want to contest the artistic choice taken by the Dutch dj in last years then surely but every time we listen to one of his songs or his remix, nostalgia is immediately afloat. Today, Tiësto is 50 years old and his career and his trance successes have so definitily and indelibly remolded the story of this genre that everything that came soon after loses importance.
Never no DJ in the world has marked the history of electronic music in those years as he has probably done, has marked a trend in the trance genre that was then taken from another undisputed mainstay and that still holds high the flag of the genre.
