Gouryella – Walhalla

The success obtained the previous year with the track that bears the name of the project, prompted Tiësto and Ferry Corsten, in 1999, to re-propose the famous alias Gouryella with the great classic “Walhalla”: the meaning of this word is found in the Nordic mythology and has to do with the paradise reserved for war heroes. The track entered the UK singles chart at number 27 during 1999 and became one of the most popular trance tracks of that year, thanks to powerfull riff and the romantic vocal intro by Dutch singer Rachel Spier. The song was also released with a version by Armin van Buuren who used his nascent alias Rising Star for this record, giving the track that extra touch of euphoric trance.
