The new nostalgic melody of Armin van Buuren with VIZE and Leony: ‘City Lights’

A German-Dutch collaboration that once again recalls a captivating and nostalgic trance sound

We are approaching the heart of summer and the Dutch trance legend, like every year now, brings out each one for every musical “taste”:

First of all, his B2B with David Guetta at Ushuaïa in Ibiza three days ago aroused big curiosity, an insane live set in which the two electronic music legends previewed their first musical collaboration ever which will be released soon; supports the “orange” team at the European Football Championships in Germany with his captivating Larger Than Life (with Chef’Special), makes us dance with the energy of High On Love (feat. Anne Gudrum, follow-up to his intense Love Is A Drug of last year) and above all, continues to capture attention with what is now acclaimed as one of the most beautiful and loved trance tracks of 2024 and beyond, namely the track with Gryffin, What Took You So Long.

Precisely in the wake of his majestic tune with Gryffin, Armin van Buuren has sensed, with his natural musical feel, that this is the right time to combine trance with a refined “accelerated” sound that recalls or takes up the style of dance and trance music of the 90s; he has in fact already reproduced this captivating sound in his recently released remix of the Seven Lions and ILLENIUM track, Not Even Love.

A new collaboration was released tomorrow, Friday 21 June, which confirms all the attention for this style of trance, with the Germans VIZE and Leony.

In City Lights all the effervescence of the pop-dance sound of Vize and vocalist Leony come together with the typically trance beat of Armin van Buuren, in a nostalgic crescendo in the piano motif, with the mind inevitably going to the epochal successes of music dance music with a dream-trance taste from the second half of the 90s:

City Lights is the Tune Of The Week in A State Of Trance episode 1178 this evening and is available on all platforms from tomorrow on Armada Music: City Lights.

We already know that the king of A State Of Trance will still have exciting surprises in store for us over the course of this summer !
