Above & Beyond and Richard Bedford’s long-awaited ‘Heart Of Stone’ has finally been released !

From ABGT 500 to today: two years of waiting but the new track of an iconic collaboration has finally been released today

The awesome carrier of Above & Beyond that has lasted for over twenty years has left room for a while for individual projects with totally different ways of seeing music: Jono‘s JODA project accompanied by Darren Tate has actually lasted for over two years and has proposed some interesting releases and an album in progressive/80’s downtempo style, an absolutely successful experiment that has won us over. Also incisive was the return of Paavo with the project P.O.S., an old alias, with a series of releases and remixes born together with his anagram of a progressive trance nature.

But the real news was the debut of Tony McGuinness with the album Salt: Tony said that with this solo pop project he has returned a bit to what he was doing shortly before his musical life changed radically, before founding Above & Beyond precisely.

These interesting individual projects had therefore put aside the release of new tracks from the main project: however, we cannot fail to mention the song from the beginning of the year with Zoë Johnston, Crazy Love, which remains one of the best trance releases of this 2024 and, recently, the Palermo / Fractal EP with PROFF, as their first and successful deep house experiment.

However, one track had been left behind from that famous ABGT 500 in Los Angeles on 2022: the new track with Richard Bedford: the British singer and songwriter has become one of the icons of world vocal trance in these over fifteen years thanks above all to the collaborations with Above & Beyond: Thing Called Love (2011), Alone Tonight (2006), Northern Soul (2017) and mostly, the now legendary Sun & Moon (2011), just to name the most representative, have all become trance classics: the last time together, in 2020, for the glowing Bittersweet & Blue, contained in the album Common Ground.

After a two-year wait, Heart Of Stone has finally ready today, released on Anjunabeats label

Above & Beyond’s spine-chilling breaks and Richard Bedford’s iconic voice come together again in this new progressive-trance track, giving again that unmistakable atmosphere: we wonder if this new gem from Anjunabeats could be the prelude to a long-awaited new album from the London trio …
