Above & Beyond’s Paavo announces his debut album

Paavo Siljamäki resurrects his alias P.O.S., announcing the forthcoming release of an entire album

The brilliant mind of Paavo, Tony and Jono has been giving birth to trance masterpieces, and not only, for over twenty years under the Above & Beyond project and it’s impossible to find moments in their career in which their artistic and creative potential can be questioned .

After the exciting event in Los Angeles at Bank of California to celebrate the 500th episode of their Above & Beyond Group Therapy radioshow last October, during which we were able to listen the brand new music by Anjunabeats and Anjunadeep label that will accompany us throughout this 2023, Above & Beyond have announced their usual appointment at The Gorge Amphitheater in Washington State from 21 to 23 July to celebrate once again the Group Therapy Weekender which however, as they have already anticipated, will replace the celebrations for the episode 550 which this year it will not bring with it a new event around the world cause Paavo, Tony and Jono will be busy producing new music in their London studios.

Among the many innovations, the one announced today is undoubtedly among the first in the pipeline and concerns the career of 1/3 of the trio, or Paavo: with his alias P.O.S. (Paavo Olavi Siljamäki) released between 2003 and 2009 some precious trance gems (like “Gravity” in 2005 or “5” with Super8 & Tab in 2006) and after some years he came back a few months ago, giving us the dreamy “Thunder & Sunshine”, contained in the compilation “Anjunabeats Volume 16” released last July 22nd.

Crowning this comeback as a solo career, Paavo announced his debut album a little while ago, “Deeper Tales”, on Anjunabeats:

The first single to be released next Friday will be a remix by P.O.S. and anamē on a track by Kyan, “Lonely River”: the new album, due out soon, therefore promises to be a work with a light but intense sound, combining the consolidated legacy of Above & Beyond’s main project, undoubtedly made of trance and progressive with to deep house and ambient harmonies that we hear so much echo in the big Anjuna family.

The album release will be accompanied by a tour which P.O.S. will undertake in March between the U.S.A. and Canada: tickets on sale Friday, January 27th @ 10am. → bit.ly/Paavo-DC

In a similar way to what happened last year to one of his “partner in crime” Jono with the synth-pop/house project JODA (with Darren Tate), Paavo will also show us his personal artistic side this year, obviously without forgetting how much new music in any case, it will come from their main project: Above & Beyond.
