Markus Schulz and Frankyeffe team up for a powerful anthem: ‘Monolith’

One of the brilliant tracks of the summer, combining techno speed with trance atmospheres is out today on Coldharbour Recordings

In recent months, the music scene has definitively turned the spotlight on a well-defined and increasingly popular sound: the fusion of trance and techno. This evolution has engaged several producers, many of whom have embraced the shift thanks in part to collaborations with leading artists in their respective genres.

This is precisely the case with Markus Schulz and Frankyeffe, two prominent figures who, despite coming from different musical backgrounds, share a surprisingly aligned artistic vision. Markus Schulz, a German-born, U.S.-based producer, needs little introduction. A trance legend since the 2000s, he has remained a key figure in the genre for over two decades. Over time, he has broadened his style, embracing new influences while staying true to his roots: a clear example of this is his album The Rabbit Hole Circus, a work that blends progressive, trance, techno, and house elements into a coherent and mature mix.

On the other side is Francesco Fava, better known as Frankyeffe, one of the most versatile and multifaceted names on the Italian techno scene. In recent years, he has stood out for his impressive productivity and his ability to navigate seamlessly through the various shades of the genre. After joining Revealed Recordings, he explored tech and hard trance sounds, but his real breakthrough came with his arrival at Black Hole Recordings, where he was able to fully express his vision, including powerful vocal/dance productions.

It’s precisely from this synergy that Monolith was born, released today: the track represents a perfect perfect fusion between Schulz’s trance soul, rich in hypnotic and melodic atmospheres, and Frankyeffe’s explosive techno energy. A track that can be described as techno-trance (or hard trance, if you prefer), but which stands out above all for its attention to detail and high technical quality. Undoubtedly, a release destined to make a lasting impact in the months ahead.
