It’s an unstoppable year for the Rotterdam trance legend and the five Dutch guys: their new track together will be released on August 15th
It has now become clear – and we’ve said it many times – that this moment in music history, not only in the trance scene but also across various musical landscapes, is increasingly revisiting the rhythms and atmospheres of the 90s, this is largely due to a generational shift. First, the 1970s and 1980s were brought back – and in some genres, still are – especially in pop, house, and dance music. Now, that same nostalgia is being channeled into the ’90s, capturing more and more producers in the trance scene who are drawing on the sounds that defined the genre’s early days.
Last October, during the Amsterdam Dance Event, we were genuinely blown away when the legendary Ferry Corsten announced a collaboration with five Dutch guys SUPERSTRINGS: their track Remember became one of the most acclaimed trance records of 2024 (our #2 of the year). With its unmistakable energy and the kind of beauty typical of the best trance tracks from the late ’90s, Remember is still among the most played at festivals to this day.
Following this success, SUPERSTRINGS had an exciting start to 2025: their classic set on the Mainstage of A State Of Trance TRANSFORMATION last February in Ahoy Rotterdam was unforgettable; and in terms of production, they haven’t slowed down either: riding the same wave of nostalgia, they released a second collaboration in February – this time with Ben Gold – the fantastic The Whip.
For both Ferry Corsten and SUPERSTRINGS, this summer is clearly making an impact: the ultimate summer event for trance lovers around the world – Luminosity Beach Festival – once again served as a showcase for fresh music. The king of trance from Rotterdam just released a new collaboration with Ruben de Ronde under his alias NRG2000, titled Rise Up. In the same vein of ’90s trance, hard trance, and breakbeat fusion, Ferry Corsten returned to the studio with Jona, Fred, Emiel, Cas, and Maurice to produce the follow-up to Remember, called Have Me.
As Ferry Corsten himself says, “Have Me is euphoric, electrifying and tailor made for the big stages, and we are so grateful for the crowd reactions we got so far”, just like at Luminosity Beach Festival last June.
Ferry Corsten & SUPERSTRINGS – Have Me will be released on Friday, August 15th via Flashover Recordings.
