Tinlicker and the new definition of progressive

The concept of progressive music through of Tinlicker’s sound, a real revelation of this period

In the large archive that contains all the sub-genres of electronic music it has often been tried to give a definitive title to the progressive style which represents a real paradox because it is associated with different musical genres and often difficult to classify.

Specifically, it often happens to listen to prog publications to which we give the name of trance or house, this happens because this particular style is very similar in sound but changes in the details like a beat, for example, which makes the difference in the musical piece itself. . In the club concept and in live shows this reasoning merges into genres and the true representatives of this mainstream are the Tinlicker.

The musical maturation of this Dutch duo composed of Micha Heyboer and Jordi van Achthoven we are probably experiencing in the last few months, after having found a musical philosophy that is making their fortune and a label at their height.

The success of this excellent philosophy during live sets characterized by captivating melodies close to break trance and engaging progressive choruses are a novelty already followed by other famous authors of the moment, a musical path very similar for example to CamelPhat, ARTBAT, AVIRA and other producers.

The career less than ten years has undergone an evolution last year with the landing on Anjunabeats and specifically on Anjunadeep, a branch of the English label always at the top of publications regarding progressive and deep. We were able to appreciate the skill of Tinlicker in a crazy remix that impressed the fans, namely in the song by Gabriel & Dresden “As The Rush Comes” and again, a fantastic reworking of “Children” by Robert Miles.

Beyond this “This Is Not Our Universe”, duo’s second album released last year, which turned out to be a progressive house work, has consecrated them in the Anjuna world but we are sure that it is only the first step to something new. which is in the works and will include new musical entries and new ideas that fans will surely appreciate.
