Tomorrowland 2021 will not happen, again

Bad news is rocking the world of events today in the midst of hoped-for reopenings: Tomorrowland 2021 has been canceled

Last week the Dutch government gave the go ahead to finally be able to organize the big outdoor and indoor festivals, from this summer onwards in the orange country: ok then for the Amsterdam Dance Event 2021 in October, A State Of Trance 1000 a September and many great trance (and non trance) events that have been waiting to be organized for over a year !

Today, however, this happy news collides with a very bad one: the mayor of Boom, the Belgian town that hosts Tomorrowland every year, has cancelled the event, which should have been held for August 27th till the 29th and September 3rd till the 5th since there was no authorization from the ministry to organize festivals with thousands of people, despite being announced months ago.

The biggest electronic music festival for all EDM genres therefore, for the second consecutive year, will not see the light and the organizers do not hide their deep disappointment via social media:

“Giant disaster! As Tomorrowland, we want to organize a safe festival first and foremost and we have stated several times that we will always continue to evaluate and anticipate the epidemiological situation. The mayor of Boom and his counsel have indicated to us that we can go to the Council of State against this decision.”

“After fifteen years of intensive cooperation, this feels very wry and we find it very unfortunate after the many constructive preparations and conversations, federal commitments have reached this point, where we no longer know what just happened to us and have to let it go for to while. Settle.”

We join at the thought, however hoping for some change of ideas.
