The first date of A State Of Trance 1000 world tour was successfully staged yesterday at the Music Media Dome in Moscow
It was 15 February 2020 when the spotlights of A State Of Trance – and shortly after those of all the festivals in the world – went out to face the serious pandemic emergency: a stop that would have lasted well beyond the anticipations and that forced the organizers of the most famous trance radioshow ever to postpone, as we have seen, the celebrations for A State Of Trance 1000 in Jaarbeurs Utrecht to next 18 & 19 February 2022.
This extension of the restrictions for major events has not remained unchanged in all countries: Russia for example, yesterday, was pleased to host the return of Armin van Buuren and many other artists to celebrate the first date of the world tour of A State Of Trance 1000 in Moscow !
The lights, the lasers, the music and above all, the joy in the faces of the fans finally gathered together characterized the long marathon of A State Of Trance after almost twenty months of absence: the Russian Alexander Popov inaugurated the event, with a new version, together with Whiteout, of the famous “Yuri Kane – Right Back”, “Tune Of The Year” in 2010; a crescendo of progressive-trance characterized his set, up to peaks of uplifting and the finale with his latest song with Paul Oakenfold, “Angel”.
Armin van Buuren’s partner in crime in A State Of Trance Ruben De Ronde set the dancefloor on fire below with a DJ set featuring exclusively tracks and remixes from his now vast progressive-trance repertoire: we must point out the exceptional remix of “Can’t Sleep” by Above & Beyond produced with Elevven, upcoming.
And then Orjan Nilsen with his return to the stage of A State Of Trance, he confirmed his excellent 2021, characterized by the return of a nostalgic sound and new collaborations: the opening track, one of his great successes of 2011, “The Mule” and the inclusion, among the mash ups, of legendary tracks, including “Lethal Industry” by Tiesto.
So here are Cosmic Gate, practically regular guests on the stage of A State Of Trance who brought all the power of the sound of the new album “MOSAIIK – Chapter One”, including the last single, released just yesterday, “Summer Wonder” ( feat. Mike Schmid); all mixed with some of their tracks and some of their remixes that have become historical, including the recent “Only Road” remix, by Gabriel & Dresden.
“The man who started all this”, Armin van Buuren, then takes the stage with a successful mash up of one of his collaborations on the recent album “FOREVER”, the one with AVIRA, the trance cover of “Sirius” by The Alan Parson Project, together with Swedish House Mafia’s “Lifetime” (feat. Ty Dolla $ ign & 070 Shake): thirty-three tracks played in two hours, all the best, probably, of his recent trance and non-trance discography: such as usual, it’s difficult to stand still, especially if the slogan of the event is “Turn The World Into A Dancefloor” !
Another trance myth of these times subsequently took to the stage of the Music Media Dome, we are obviously talking about Giuseppe Ottaviani, for his stellar LIVE 3.0: an hour of exceptional uplifting trance, but we had doubts?! We do not !
The first stage of A State Of Trance 1000 ended last night with the last sensational set by Ben Nicky who brought his alias Emotional Havoc to the Moscow stage: a chaos that we liked, with an hour of great classic trance alternating with massive recent uplifting peaks, 60 minutes of pure trance hard to forget.
However, the celebrations for A State Of Trance 1000 have just begun: on October 14th a special ASOT event will be staged within ADE and on November 19th the world tour will land in Mexico City: we are sure that we have just started dancing !
