Among the most famous and fruitful trance labels ever, celebrate the 25th anniversary of the foundation this year
If in 1996, the progressive-dream music era of Robert Miles and other artists, it definitely gave an emotional face to the trance genre, the 1997 opens what is so defined as the “golden age” of trance music: in the autumn of that year, Arny Bink and Tijs Verwest, aka Tiësto, in Breda, The Netherlands, found the Black Hole Recordings label: it’s the Black Hole Recordings that, in the years to come, together with Armada Music and Anjunabeats a few years later, will sign many of the records that have made history of this genre.
On September 15th 2022 the Dutch label will celebrate its 25th anniversary:
The label has been, over the years, undoubtedly associated with one of the two greatest founders and pioneers of the genre, Tiësto, who in 2001 created the sub-label Magic Muzik: many of the greatest hits of the Dutch DJ (“Adagio For Strings”, “Suburban Train”, “Just Be” to name a few) belong to this name and many other divisions of the label, such as the famous In Trance We Trust, marked the golden age of trance; also, the successful trance compilation series “In Search Of Sunrise” also support the name of Tiësto and Black Hole Recordings.
In recent years, further sub-labels have given birth to other incredible trance hits: AVA Recordings, Magic Island Records, Pure Trance Recordings, Go On Air Recordings, Wake Your Mind Records, Coulharbour Recordings, Subculture and many others, all belong to Black Hole Recordings: and it is on this sub-labels that the various Cosmic Gate, JES, Gabriel & Dresden, BT, Richard Durand, Solarstone, First State, Roger Shah, RAM, Andy Moor and many many other trance artists have filtered their masterpieces.
Although in 2009 Tiësto sold his share of the company to Arny Bink, somehow heralding the end of his trance era, the commitment of Black Hole Recordings, its sub-labels and all the trance artists who they are part of this world to keep up the name of the genre it has never stopped and it’s precisely for this reason that the label prepares a special party on September 15th: we can’t wait to know what it is !
