Three days left until the new edition of the A State Of Trance festival in an incredible new location in Rotterdam
The memories among the long corridors and immense stages of Jaarbeurs Utrecht are still imprinted in the hearts of many fans of A State Of Trance and trance lovers: eight extraordinary editions of the longest-running trance festival ever, culminating with the two-day event last year to celebrate, albeit late due to the pandemic, the episode 1000 of Armin van Buuren’s radio show.
Armin had announced well in advance that this would be the year of change and in fact the ASOT team set out to find a new home for the festival last summer (because a part of Jaarbeurs Utrecht complex will in fact be closed) and it was found: the Ahoy Rotterdam, located in the southern part of the city of Rotterdam, will be the location that will welcome thousands of trance fans this weekend, on Friday 23rd and Saturday 24th for the 2024 edition of A State Of Trance, called Destination.
Ahoy Rotterdam is one of the most cutting-edge trade fair complexes with an indoor arena in The Netherlands and is already familiar in the trance scene from some events in the past, including an Armin Only in 2006: it hosted the final of the Eurovision Song Contest in 2021.
It will be the longest edition of the festival: two nights, 5 stages, 66 DJ sets for 58 artists on stage, including four opportunities to hear the boss of A State Of Trance play, with a special Destination Set together with Ruben de Ronde , Ferry Corsten and Nina de Koning on Friday 23rd from 1.30 am to 3.30 am in the Mainstage called AREA ONE for this event:
In addition to his inevitable set on Saturday night, this year Armin van Buuren has decided to offer fans two special B2B which the DJ clearly wants to pay homage to the techno sound, which also shines through in the choice of some artists who will participate in the event: HI-LO, the techno-trance alias of Oliver Heldens and Joris Voorn, Dutch progressive-techno icon.
