The English DJ and producer on the Platipus Records label has recorded a new track in which we hear all the best of his famous dreamlike sound
Platipus Records label is inextricably linked to the name of the DJ and producer Simon Berry: it was 1993, over 30 years have passed, but the sign of that hypnotic trance still echoes today.
Trance music produced in the UK tells a story of quality, sophisticated music, sometimes for a small target, sometimes for a mainstream public, but which always aims for excellence: in this, Simon Paul Berry, with his most famous alias, Art Of Trance, has always been one of major exponents, at various times over the last three decades.
The echoes and atmospheres of Gloria (1993), Cambogia (1994) or Octopus (1995) seem far away, but also so close, in that union of acid, goa and pure trance sound that made him famous in the 90s: a touch of progressive to his dreamlike sound and in 1999, the golden year of trance, he too was among the protagonists with the masterpiece album Voice Of Earth: hence his most famous success, also famous for one of the most iconic trance remix ever created: Ferry Corsten’s remix of Madagascar.
It would be impossible to mention all the celestial melodies that the English DJ and producer released in that period, but one in particular really made us fall in love twenty years ago: Mongoose, famous above all for the remix of Andy Ross e Robbie Bronnimann under tek^tonik project: #3 in Trance Around The World of Above & Beyond Top20 of 2004, a true trance masterpiece.
Although with a certain distance from the scenes, even if among the protagonists of the Luminosity Beach Festival, like this year, Simon Berry and his alias Art Of Trance have continued to produce beautiful music in recent years where the music runs fast together with the faster rhythms of the record market and social media, this time embracing soft sound of ambient and progressive house music.
Art Of Trance returns today, July 12, on Platipus, with Mariana: a track that celebrates his thirty-year sound devoted to hyptonic trance, in which we can see those sonic elements that recall nature and space that have often distinguished him in many of his famous productions:
Within the releases we find the German DJ and producer Torsten Fassbender who with his remix gives a progressive/melodic techno version that is close to the sounds that are very popular in recent times.
