Four years after ‘Impulse’, the London-based producer is ready to unveil a new chapter in his musical journey
Ilan Bluestone is, without a shadow of a doubt, one of the leading names in the British progressive trance scene of last decade. The London-based producer, closely tied to the Anjunabeats label since the very beginning of his career, is now ready to launch his third official album.
His debut album, Scars (2018), marked a significant milestone: a highly collaborative project filled with elements of melodic and vocal trance, clearly influenced by synth-pop. The album showcased Ilan’s most authentic musical soul, supported by the crucial contributions of Giuseppe De Luca and Maor Levi, his main creative partners back then and still to this day.
In 2021, Ilan released Impulse, a mature and technically refined album. Here, his sound became more confident, blending trance with synthwave elements, clear crossovers, and a focus on songwriting. The album reaffirmed his longstanding collaboration with the Leeds-based singer-songwriter, as well as an impressive lineup of collaborators, including Gid Sedgwick and Jan Burton.
In the years that followed, after exploring new sonic horizons with Maor Levi and Emma Hewitt through the Elysian project, and after the huge success of Futuro with Giuseppe Ottaviani in 2023 – now considered iconic – Ilan is preparing to open a new chapter. His upcoming work is born from this phase of artistic evolution: the first glimpse arrived last Friday with the single Ignite, which anticipates the self-titled album: a track bursting with vocal energy and wide, luminous synths, hallmarks of the classic Anjunabeats sound. Once again, Maor Levi and Giuseppe De Luca are involved, confirming a well-established creative team:
What can we expect from the new album ? With a solid career spanning over fifteen years of releases, Ilan Bluestone has gradually developed a very personal style, one that effortlessly moves between classic melodic trance and more modern progressive sounds, always enhanced by powerful vocals that define his artistic identity. Expectations are understandably high: we anticipate a project rich in collaborations, both with longtime partners and some prestigious new surprises, from an artist who has earned the respect of some of the greatest producers in trance music.
Ignite will be released on August 22nd on Anjunabeats label. The artist has dedicated significant effort to the album’s design, which will also be accompanied by a special vinyl edition.
