Not just Push: Solar Factor is one of the many aliases through which Mike Dierickx has filled the trance world with legendary music. The alias was inaugurated in 2002 with this very track, titled Urban Shakedown, initially released on Progrez and later reissued on Bonzai Classics.
Urban Shakedown embraces the fast, psychedelic trance style that made the Belgian DJ and producer famous during those years. The track was featured the following year in Tiësto’s Nyana compilation.
Robert Gitelman & Jaron Martinez, under their alias G & M, remixed the track, creating a trance version that highlights the main hook in their signature style, included in the original 2002 release.
In 2022, the track was revived by Bryan Kearney on the Urban Return EP by Solar Factor. Unlike the original, this remix features techno and hard trance elements, celebrating this legendary track with a catchy and contemporary twist, twenty years after its debut.
