One of the most acclaimed tracks from the legendary trance trio’s fifth studio album was finally released today
Bigger Than All Of Us, released on July 18, is without a doubt one of the trance albums of the year. And if any confirmation were ever needed, it comes every time the legendary trio of Jono, Paavo, and Tony releases a new track or album: they continue to dominate the top ranks in terms of musical quality, a streak that has lasted for twenty-five years.
The singles released so far, starting from the already majestic Quicksand (Don’t Go) with Zoë Johnston and the subsequent Carry Me Home, had already given a taste of the album’s caliber: this was further confirmed with the following tracks Start A Fire (feat. Richard Bedford), Letting Go (feat. Malou), and the title track, Bigger Than All Of Us, sung by Justine Suissa, which was recently released in the acclaimed Club Mix version.
Although each of the sixteen tracks on the album is interesting in its own way, fans – ourselves included – have paid special attention to one track in particular that has gained extra attention in recent weeks: surprisingly, as noted by Above & Beyond themselves, it has also taken off on platforms like TikTok, becoming one of the most used songs on the popular social media app: the track with Zoë Johnston, Ride At Dawn, released today.
Let’s be clear: video-sharing app fame was not needed to make a trance track by Above & Beyond interesting, but the entusiasm generated by the general appreciation from fans, especially through reactions when the track was recently played live, made it clear to Above & Beyond how important it was to release it as a single.
Ride At Dawn is yet another progressive trance gem signed by Jono, Paavo, Tony, and Zoe. It’s different from the two previous singles, Quicksand (Don’t Go) and Carry Me Home, but it generates just as many emotions, especially due to its structure: an intricate vocal section, accompanied by an elegant piano loop, leading up to the chorus that strikes straight to the hearts of fans of Above & Beyond’s melodic trance sound, culminating in the explosive progressive-trance drop.
Needless to say, one of the best tracks of 2025, yet again, crafted by this enduring collaboration.
