Tiësto’s second single after ‘Bring Me To Life’, which previews his upcoming album, is nearing release
We won’t hide it: anticipation for this track has been high ever since its debut during Tiësto’s set at Dreamstate SoCal last November 22. Beyond the musical style it represents, but we’ll get to that, Tiësto’s new single is, quite simply, a track of rare beauty.
After Bring Me To Life with FORS, released on November 21 and marking the beginning of this new (and at the same time “old”) musical era for the DJ and producer from Breda, Tiësto crossed paths with Brieanna Grace: the American singer-songwriter is today one of the most interesting and prolific vocalists in the trance and progressive scene (and beyond), as demonstrated by tracks such as Rush, with BLR and SØNIN in 2024 or last year’s Out Of The Water together with nilsix, the project by Orjan Nilsen and Mark Sixma.
The track co-produced by Tiësto and Brieanna Grace is titled Beautiful Places: if Tiësto’s return to sounds close to those that made him an icon of electronic music between the late ’90s and early 2000s would already have been enough with a solid production, with Brieanna Grace he seems to have found that perfect balance. The elegant atmospheres and vocal technique of Brieanna Grace blend with Tiësto’s renewed desire to create a track that looks to the great trance and progressive classics, without seeking a forced classification.
Beautiful Places is indeed a track that manages to straddle multiple worlds, between trance, which does not necessarily mean travelling at 138 bpm, and progressive house, embracing those atmospheres that, even back then, naturally coexisted among the various strands of electronic music. The track recalls those early-2000s classics, such as Rui Da Silva – Touch Me, to cite just one example, featured in the famous In Search Of Sunrise compilations, where Tiësto blended different sounds to create an emotional journey without boundaries.
The track has been played in all three of the first episodes of Prismatic, the new Tiësto radio show, and in the latest episode, which aired Friday, January 16, the DJ announced the imminent arrival of the single as the second release from his new album, advising everyone to keep an eye on social media for updates on both releases.
