The Scottish DJ and producers’s reinterpretation of the iconic 2004 trance track has been making waves in recent months, gaining support from some of the most influential figures in the trance scene
For some time now, everything related to Tiësto has suddenly returned to the center of attention thanks to his surprising return to trance. Even when it does not directly involve new productions, the renewed interest extends to everything surrounding his extraordinary past career.
It is clear that a strong nostalgic element is also taking shape around this comeback, bringing back to light the most prolific period of his trance history around the turn of the millennium. His classics are increasingly being played again in DJ sets, both by Tiësto himself and by other artists, while new reinterpretations and remixes continue to breathe new life into the tracks that defined an era.
This is precisely the case with Mark Sherry. During Tiësto’s now iconic trance DJ set at DreamState SoCal last November, the first set entirely focused on trance and composed of new music, marking the beginning of his return to the genre, the techno/trance remix of the legendary Love Comes Again, produced by the Scottish DJ and producer, did not go unnoticed. The original iconic track was released by Tiësto and BT in 2004, contained in the legendary album Just Be.
The remix encapsulates all the characteristics of the sound that sits between trance and techno which Mark Sherry has been exploring in his productions and collaborations in recent years, including his latest releases on Outburst Records, the label founded by the Scottish producer himself. It perfectly complements the structure of the original track while giving it an explosive and contemporary edge. As if that were not enough, Armin van Buuren has also helped increase the hype surrounding the release. The track was played both during his set celebrating the 25th anniversary of A State of Trance on February 27 in Rotterdam and in episode 1267 of the renowned radio show.
For Mark Sherry, this represents a well-deserved recognition, confirming a musical journey built over more than twenty-five years of activity. From the historic project Public Domain, launched at the beginning of the millennium, to his most recent productions, his career has remained consistent and influential. In recent years, his studio work has entered a new phase, marked by high-profile collaborations and releases on several labels, often within the orbit of Black Hole Recordings, while maintaining a distinctive sound balanced between hard trance and techno.
Tiësto feat. BT – Love Comes Again (Mark Sherry Remix) will be released soon on Musical Freedom, although an official release date has not yet been announced.
