In Nijmegen, 12 hours of trance emotions: Superstrings bring together Johan Gielen, Ruben de Ronde and Eva Vrijdag

The momentum the trance scene has been experiencing in recent months is remarkable. More and more frequently, new projects, tracks and events are being announced, all pointing toward a return to the emotions of the past and a renewed connection with the genre’s roots.
Superstrings have built their artistic identity precisely around this vision. A clear example came over the past two years at Ahoy Rotterdam, where the collective delivered sets centered on a carefully curated selection of pure trance from the late ’90s to the early 2000s, captivating even the most nostalgic and knowledgeable listeners.

The five artists from Nijmegen continue to orbit within the musical universe where trance was born. The energy of their live performances has now led them to announce an event destined to stand out for both its ambition and duration: Sleeping Beauty, a musical marathon built around a 12-hour B2B.
Joining them for this special experience will be Johan Gielen, a true icon of the trance scene.
The Dutch DJ and producer has long been a source of inspiration for Superstrings, and his productions, especially those from the genre’s golden years, continue to shape the collective’s musical identity. At the same time, Gielen is experiencing a renewed creative momentum: the recent reunion with Svenson has revived one of the most iconic names in trance, rekindling the nostalgia of an entire generation of fans.

Alongside him will also be Ruben de Ronde, who will appear under his NRG2000 alias for the occasion. In recent times, the Dutch DJ has become a key companion for Superstrings, embodying with conviction the spirit of renewal currently moving through the trance scene.
Completing the lineup will be Eva Vrijdag, a DJ deeply connected to Nijmegen’s clubbing scene and a recurring presence at the collective’s events. Her musical approach perfectly aligns with the group’s vision, representing the direct link between Superstrings and the city where everything began.

With these artists and these sounds coming together, the event promises to be something truly special. The appointment is set for Saturday, March 14, 2026, at Doornroosje in Nijmegen, with doors opening at 13:00 and a trance marathon continuing until 01:00, twelve hours destined to become a celebration of early-2000s trance and its new resurgence.

The event is already sold out and there were no doubts, but check Timeswarp for any remaining tickets!
