Solarstone & Orkidea set to release ‘Pure Trance XI: Live In London’

Over the years, the relationship between artists and their audiences has become increasingly direct and authentic. Embracing this philosophy, Solarstone and Orkidea chose to share a genuine live experience with their listeners, transforming a real-time performance into the eleventh installment of the acclaimed Pure Trance saga.

The recording took place during a special night at Fabric in London, where the two artists delivered an extended musical journey in front of a live audience. That performance ultimately became the foundation of the album’s final tracklist, capturing the essence and atmosphere experienced on the dancefloor.

More recently, the duo selected Guangzhou, China, as the location for a special live event aimed at promoting this new chapter of the series.

Orkidea’s involvement carries particular significance. Back in 2012, the Finnish producer joined Richard Mowatt, better known as Solarstone, in mixing the very first volume of the Pure Trance compilation series, a year that also marked the launch of the label and the birth of the Pure Trance movement and philosophy.

Fourteen years later, the two producers reunite on a project that demonstrates an artistic chemistry that has remained intact throughout the years. The result is a carefully curated collection of 44 tracks reflecting the many shades and dimensions of the genre.

Solarstone has described the project as both a return to the roots and an opportunity to complete a creative circle. Rather than constructing the mix in the studio, the decision was made to record the album live, embracing the spirit of legendary club-mixed compilations such as Northern Exposure, Global Underground, and Renaissance.

Exploring the tracklist is like travelling through a timeless musical tradition, where recent productions, exclusive material, and carefully selected classics coexist within a journey that moves seamlessly between progressive sounds, underground atmospheres, and the purest expression of contemporary Pure Trance.

Among the highlights is undoubtedly Slowmotion VII, the latest chapter in the long-running collaboration between Solarstone and Orkidea. Released recently, the track perfectly embodies the modern vision of Pure Trance.

The compilation also features genuine milestones of the genre, including Innocente (Tiësto Remix), widely regarded as one of the most iconic remixes in trance history. Bringing the journey to a close is an exclusive production: Bryan Kearney’s rework of Orkidea’s Beautiful, chosen as the final piece of an exceptionally curated musical experience.

An ambitious project that fully represents the Pure Trance philosophy, Pure Trance XI: Live In London is set to reach audiences worldwide on June 12 via Black Hole Recordings.
