In common language, a pioneer is someone who opens new paths, explores uncharted territories, and leaves a mark destined to influence future generations: a definition that has often perfectly suited Mike Dierickx, better known as M.I.K.E. Push.
The era we are living in continues to bring important anniversaries and milestones linked to the artists who shaped the history of trance and its many subgenres. Mike has been riding the wave of electronic music for more than three decades, building a career founded on early talent, continuous artistic growth, and a crucial learning period throughout the 1990s.
Following this path, the Belgian producer has developed a distinctive musical identity over the years. Deep basslines, powerful atmospheres, and signature pads have become defining elements of his productions, helping to establish a legendary reputation through his most celebrated aliases. Alongside M.I.K.E. and Push – often grouped under a unified artistic direction since 2014 – Plastic Boy has also played a major role in a discography that remains one of the most influential within the genre: tracks such as Strange World and Universal Nation defined an entire era, becoming reference points for modern trance and a source of inspiration for both emerging producers and established talents.
In line with this philosophy, Mike has spent recent months preparing his new project, Known Universe, the eighth studio album released under the Push alias. The album follows Phantom Reals, an ambient and melodic work released in January, and appears to be a more ambitious and complex effort than Scope, released in 2022.
According to the artist himself, Known Universe will reflect many of the characteristics that made From Beyond one of the most acclaimed releases of his career. This direction is already evident in the four singles unveiled so far.
Back When We Believed, the first release of 2026, immediately pointed toward the promised sound through dark and immersive atmospheres combined with energetic rhythms. The same can be said for Breakpoint, perhaps the track that currently comes closest to the classic Push formula. Completing the picture are Future Fall and the latest single, Feel The Underground, both introducing a more electro-oriented and contemporary approach.
These four singles offer the first glimpse of an album featuring twelve tracks in total, a project that appears to capture the essence of a musical journey in constant evolution. It’s a universe that moves across different dimensions of electronic music while preserving the identity that transformed Push into an iconic figure.
Mike has also stated his intention to explore the many facets of electronic music through this release. Even so, few artists can claim the same level of consistency throughout such a long career. For more than thirty years, the pioneer from Antwerp has continued to deliver a unique vision of trance, remaining faithful to a sound that has helped shape the history of the genre.
Long associated with Black Hole Recordings, Push is now ready to unveil the next chapter of his discography. Known Universe will be released on July 3, and the countdown is almost over.
