The fact that 2026 is already proving to be a serious challenge for those of us who put together charts and for fans alike is now undeniable. The sheer amount of high-quality productions hitting the market, like we haven’t seen in years, inevitably brings back memories of the finest moments of the golden age of trance. We have already discussed the reasons behind this resurgence several times, but one thing is clear: from every corner of the scene, there is a shared desire to make this period truly special in the genre’s history.
Among the leading names once again is Giuseppe Ottaviani, who continues to carry the Italian trance flag through a particularly prolific phase of his career. Both under his own name and through his alias Ottagon, under which he delivered many of last year’s successes, culminating in the album Eight, the Italian producer has further expanded his artistic horizons, pushing himself to the very edges of trance. Last March, he collaborated with ARTBAT on Break The Loop, while more recently he joined forces with Gabry Ponte and Crooked Bangs on Astra. Just a few days ago, Run Away was released alongside Dicosis: a brilliant vocal trance track in which the sonic identities of both projects are clearly recognizable.
Ilan Bluestone is also going through a particularly intense and creative period, fueled by the strong reception of his album Ignite, released last year on Anjunabeats. On March 28th, both artists appeared in the lineup at Beyond Wonderland SoCal, where they delivered an engaging DJ set filled with new material and enriched by nods to the past through fresh productions. One detail, however, stood out more than any other: the set both opened and closed with two collaborations featuring the two artists together.
Back in 2023, Futuro established their artistic chemistry, becoming one of the most acclaimed trance tracks of the year and reaching #6 in the A State of Trance Top 50. A track made unforgettable by its instantly recognizable melody and strong emotional impact. Today, however, we are focusing on the track that closed their San Bernardino set: the new currently collaboration referred to as Together Again.
It is now evident that when Giuseppe Ottaviani and Ilan Bluestone join forces, they create something truly special: the news track opens with a long, cinematic, almost symphonic introduction that gradually builds into an emotional uplifting melody before bursting into its drop. Elements that perfectly reflect what is happening in contemporary trance: a renewed pursuit of authenticity, combined with a focus on the beauty of music and the emotions it conveys.
The new track has been further highlighted by Armin van Buuren, who recently played it during his DJ set for the Poland leg of the 25 Years of A State Of Trance celebration at Legia Stadium in Warsaw, and of course by Giuseppe Ottaviani himself. The track is expected to be released very soon, adding to a 2026 that, even halfway through its journey, is already shaping up to be exceptional for trance music.
