Ginchy reaches a new level with ‘Who Do You Love Now’

Breaking through on the global music scene in such a short time while earning the appreciation of fans with different musical tastes is an achievement reserved for only a handful of producers: since 2021, Ardell Michael Mafi, better known as Ginchy, has enjoyed steady and rapid growth, building his reputation through high-quality productions and collaborations that have established him within the progressive scene. An evolution that has taken him through house, techno and, more recently, trance.

What stands out most about Ginchy, an artist who has chosen to present himself with a distinctive golden mask since the very beginning of his career, is the consistent quality of his productions, regardless of whether they involve collaborations: tracks such as CITADEL (with Padre Guilherme), Save Me (with Laura van Dam) and Battalion (with Cosmic Gate) have undoubtedly helped broaden his musical reach.

In recent months, however, also thanks to the strong support of several producers from the trance scene, his inspiration has reached a new level of maturity, moving decisively towards progressive trance. His remix of Reverie, the acclaimed track by Paul Sawyer, Danny Stubbs and Susie Ledge, is a clear example of this evolution.

Further confirmation came during his performance on Stage 2 at A State Of Trance in Rotterdam last February: a set full of personality and quality that showcased the full range of Ginchy’s musical catalogue, highlighting both his versatility and artistic identity. The final track played during that performance has been gaining increasing recognition over the past few weeks, creating considerable anticipation. It’s a genuine progressive trance production that, in both structure and sound, recalls the classic releases from the Anjunabeats catalogue.

The track is built around a powerful vocal climax before exploding into an energetic and captivating electro-driven drop: the artist himself and several official tracklists have already revealed what now appears to be the official title: Who Do You Love Now.

Meanwhile, Armin van Buuren, currently the track’s main supporter, played it once again during his first Tomorrowland weekend performance on the Freedom Stage, after already featuring it in several previous sets. A production that immediately raises the artistic level of Ginchy, placing him in a new dimension and confirming his ability to make a convincing impact on the trance scene.
