The Irish artist continues to embrace a sound that has become one of the defining traits of the new wave of trance. Once again, he has chosen to collaborate with a young emerging talent
We have already covered Bryan Kearney‘s musical evolution in recent years, but the path taken by the Dublin producer since the beginning of 2026 represents yet another significant step forward.
It is a direction that perfectly aligns with the revival of trance’s most refined characteristics, reinterpreted through a modern lens for a new generation of listeners. By temporarily setting aside the uplifting sound that defined much of his success over the years, Kearney has ventured into a new musical dimension,one that has been met with equally enthusiastic acclaim.
This journey began several months ago with Ready To Fly, created alongside Modea, a production that will very likely be remembered as one of the finest trance releases of 2026. More recently came Over & Over, produced with Ready In RED, a reinterpretation of Jordan Nocturne’s acclaimed original. The project allowed Kearney to continue experimenting by blending nostalgia with contemporary production techniques. Once again drawing inspiration from the 1990s, the track places speed, tension, pauses, and relentless rhythms at its core, confidently reviving a distinctly old-school approach.
With Back Once Again, this artistic evolution arguably reaches its most complete expression. The aesthetic of classic trance, at times even touching underground territory, is recreated with remarkable authenticity. Expansive melodic breakdowns give way to hypnotic grooves, pulsating and evolving synths, and persistent vocal samples that drive the track from beginning to end.
This record, like many of the productions released in recent months, reminds us of a side of trance that had long been overshadowed. It represents an interpretation of the genre that is now making a powerful comeback, naturally, confidently, and deliberately finding its place across a wide variety of trance settings, becoming an increasingly prominent part of today’s scene.
Scheduled for release on Armada Music, the track has already been circulating in DJ sets for several months and is the result of a collaboration between Bryan Kearney and Steijn Bergsma, better known by his alias, Nedea. Everything suggests that Nedea is a young up-and-coming producer in whom the Irish artist has placed considerable faith, consistently supporting his work throughout his recent performances.
Like many other talents of the new generation, (like Modea), Nedea is part of a musical movement that shares a similar sonic identity and appears destined to play an important role in this new wave of trance. Through the experience of his co-producer, he embraces the genre with a deep respect for its roots, resulting in a sound where trance’s rich heritage and the return to an authentic dancefloor culture blend together seamlessly.
