An all-Italian partnership born from distinct successful paths built over the years by Giuseppe and Giorgio returns with a new release, this time under the Armada Music
In every artistic domain, we have witnessed the meeting of different talents often sharing the same DNA. The examples are endless, and Giuseppe Ottaviani and Giorgio Ortenzi know this all too well: two cousins from Viterbo (Lazio) whose initial paths were worlds apart, yet inevitably bound to cross.
Giuseppe Ottaviani, backed by a musical career spanning over two decades, has developed and refined his craft to become a true “maestro” of keyboards and piano applied to trance music and beyond. It is a journey that has established him as a unique icon, globally acclaimed and instantly recognizable in every aspect.
Giorgio ‘Hypaton‘ Ortenzi, on the other hand, owes the early spark of his talent in part to Giuseppe’s encouragement, as he was the first to listen to and support his early demos. His major breakthrough, however, came through the endorsement and backing of David Guetta, with whom he forged a professional relationship as unexpected as it was successful.
For Giorgio, it was a meteoric rise alongside the current number-one DJ in the world. Their remix of Be My Lover feat. La Bouche became a massive hit, allowing Hypaton in a relatively short time to perform at the world’s top clubs and permanently step away from his studies to dedicate himself entirely to music.
Although the two cousins originally came from vastly different soundscapes, opportunities to collaborate became almost inevitable over time. Giorgio’s future rave style, effortlessly spanning EDM and trance, found a natural home within Giuseppe’s musical intuition and creative vision, giving rise to several joint projects.
In 2018, they dropped their first joint track, Space Unicorn, which showcased a fusion of their signature styles: a futuristic atmosphere, a trance melody, and a powerful, aggressive drive. In 2022, Tree of Souls took a softer, more progressive and melodic approach, once again demonstrating the duo’s versatility across different sounds. Their collaborations did not stop with these two productions, extending into several remixes, the most notable being their work on David Guetta’s “Baby Don’t Hurt Me” (feat. Anne-Marie & Coi Leray).
Soundboy, set for release on October 16 on Armada Music, once again highlights the winning musical philosophy of the two Italians. The track is defined by an aggressive structure and a heavy rave sound, while still leaving ample room for an extended, intense melodic breakdown.
Although the track has been heavily played since last year, Giuseppe and Giorgio officially presented it together in February in Rotterdam during A State of Trance, performing it side-by-side during Giuseppe’s set.The italian boys will perform together in Rotterdam at the A State of Trance Festival 2027 on Saturday, February 27.
Soundboy represents the continuation of a great story: two passions and two generations that, despite being close, followed different roads before inevitably meeting at the exact same point, forever united by their love for music.
