Darren Tate announces ‘Metamorphosis’

A new musical chapter is on the horizon for the London-based DJ and producer, out May 17th on Anjunabeats

Darren Tate, Jurgen Vries, DT8 Project: we can call him with many other aliases the musical genius of the English DJ and producer Darren Isaac Tate, who has been making his mark in the world of trance music for over twenty years.

An example of this is his spectacular synth-pop project JODA, which emerged two years ago in collaboration with Jono Grant of Above & Beyond, who were able to combine dance with an 80s pop sound and, again with Above & Beyond, the ambient/downtempo album for the IMAX feature film The Last Glaciers.

Over the course of these last few years we have greatly appreciated his tracks released especially on Mondo Records, in which we have perceived his intact love for a pure trance sound, free from conventions or classifications that are not always necessary.

Confirming his multifaceted sound, which ranges from intense rhythms to refined melodies, on Anjunabeats label, Darren Tate will release his new album entitled Metamorphosis: this new project deeply embraces progressive atmospheres with various nuances; the three tracks that have already been released in recent months and present in the new album are a demonstration of this:

Adrift, a progressive ride with dark atmospheres, A Long Way From Home with Solarstone and Julie Scott, a memorable collaboration that combines trance and progressive breaks and the last, Flashing Lights with Sxcha, a sophisticated vocal trance track.

Metamorphosis consists of 11 tracks (+ 3 extended versions of the tracks already released):

Notable presences of Susie Ledge, Robyn Sherwell and above all Marcella Woods, legendary trance voice.
