Paul Webster and Bo Bruce have finally announced the release date of their ‘Holding The Light’

One of the best things about music previews, or classic IDs, is the wait that leads to the official release of the song. Often, however, not all the songs that producers make us listen to are scheduled for an official release. Sometimes they are included in compilations of certain record companies or perhaps, for various reasons, they are only made to be listened to by the public without ever seeing a release date. However, there are extraordinary exceptions and one of these is the one concerning the imminent release of Paul Webster with the collaboration of Bo Bruce.

Holding The Light is the name of the track by the English singer-songwriter present in the album Before I Sleep of 2013, a purely indie-synth-pop song that captures the attention of the Irish producer who decides, at least six years ago, to transform it into a trance record. Yes, you understood correctly, because we heard the track live for the first time during Will Atkinson’s set in Jaarbeurs Utrecht, during the celebrations of A State Of Trance 900. From then on, this collaboration will be reproduced in various events and live sets, without ever seeing its official release.

It seemed like a preview destined to never come out, but the work behind this track is really too refined and important to remain anonymous and today we have a release date, February 21st on Armada Captivating; during the last episode of A State Of Trance 1211, Armin chose it as Tune Of The Week:

Paul Webster is “one of the family” for Armada’s parallel label, several are his early career productions, mainly of tech-trance origin, his initial musical style. One of his career high points came recently in 2023, with his remix of Rest Of Our Lives by Ben Gold is awarded second place in the Top 50 of A State Of Trance at the end of the year, an incredible result, a sign of appreciation from many fans who love uplifting trance.

Bo Bruce entered the trance scene thanks to Gareth Emery and their U, a track that has become decidedly iconic among industry insiders, but subsequently signs a series of quality collaborations with producers as Bryan Kearney, Simon Patterson, Chicane and lastly Ben Gold. We are not surprised if the English singer and producer can currently be defined now as one of the best voices in the trance scene of last decade.

Paul Webster & Bo Bruce – Holding The Light will be released February 21st on Armada Captivating.
