One of the most famous techno-trance DJs and producers in the second half of the 90s is undoubtedly the Italian Mauro Picotto: although he became legendary for many tracks that bear his name in those years, some of his aliases also remained in the history of trance.
CRW, one of the most famous, is actually a collaboration born in 1998 between Mauro Picotto, Andrea Remondini, Massimo Chiticonti and Riccardo Ferri (and as executive producer Gianfranco Bortolotti), with the participation of the vocalist Veronika (Veronica Coassolo): in that year their first track, the iconic I Feel Love, was released.
I Feel Love is a brilliant trance track that, although released in 1998, extended its success over the following two years, reaching #15 in the UK’s best-selling singles in 2000 and becoming one of the most danced trance tracks of 1999.
Over time, several remixes have been released (by Klubbheads, John van Dongen & Ron van den Beuken, JamX & De Leon and many others), including one by Mauro Picotto, the R.A.F. Zone Mix, which is probably the most famous version of the single, released later in 1999.
The CRW project probably represents the dreamiest side of the incredible musical career of the Turin DJ and producer, for which he released, together with Remondini, Chiticonti and Ferri, several other successes to come in the early 2000s, always characterized by a melodic/nostalgic trance composition, accentuated by Veronika’s voice: however I Feel Love remains their biggest success and one of the most iconic trance songs ever created.
