The highly anticipated ‘This World Is Ours’ of legendary Paul van Dyk is finally about to be released !

With one of the longest and most incredible careers ever for trance music, the Berlin DJ and producer is about to release his album on April 11th

Among the biggest trance music icons, Paul van Dyk undoubtedly stands out as one of the artists with the longest-running careers: from the early morning light outside Berlin clubs in the early ’90s, after incredible nights of music, to today, he has come a long way. What has always set him apart is his unwavering love for pure trance music, which he has continued to demonstrate in recent years through personal releases and collaborations, all marked by his unmistakable and pure sound.

In recent years, following the 2016 hiatus caused by the serious accident during his DJ set for A State Of Trance 750 at Jaarbeurs Utrecht, the Berlin-born genius has channeled his joy for life and new music into several albums. These works have seen a return to classic sounds (From Then On, 2017), but also embraced softer atmospheres (Escape Reality, 2020, a deep reinterpretation of some of his most memorable tracks), while maintaining his trance balanced style (Music Rescues Me, 2018, and Guiding Light, 2020). Last October, to mark the 30th anniversary of the legendary For An Angel, Paul van Dyk released an album featuring several new remixes.

On April 11th, five years after his last studio album Guiding Light, Paul van Dyk will release his highly anticipated new album: This World Is Ours. We can consider it his tenth studio album in an illustrious career, but it’s no secret, as the artist announced it months ago alongside a world tour that began on January 31st and will continue at least until October:

Some tracks have already been released since the end of last year, and it’s clear that even for Paul van Dyk, there is a shift toward faster-paced techno rhythms. Tracks like Stay (with Reznor), Seven Seas (with Fuenka), Back 2 The FVTR (with The YellowHeads), and the most recent Shed Your Light (with Paul Thomas and Ekko), are a clear tribute to a “dark” sound that has become increasingly present in recent years, not only in trance events but across many genres. This is evident in many collaborations and the evolving discographies of different artists.

It’s clear that for an icon who was born artistically in a time when trance and techno overlapped -especially in Germany thirty years ago – this doesn’t represent a change of direction, but rather a “return to something familiar”.

Like every year, Paul van Dyk will celebrate his music for the Shine event at Eden in San Anton in Ibiza with dates already announced with artists such as Aly & Fila, Amy Wiles, Bryan Kearney, Fuenka, John 00 Fleming, John O’Callaghan and Stephen Kirkwood supporting him and his new This World Is Ours represents one more reason to visit La Isla: in any case, it’s worth taking a look at his website in the Tour Dates section, as 2025 looks set to be a truly exciting year for the electronic music legend.

Paul van Dyk – This World Is Ours will be released on April 11th on Vandit Records.
