Solarstone’s new musical universe is called ‘innermost’

In the last period we have often paid homage to those who are the longest careers in the history of trance music, musical experiences that have fully surpassed twentyfive years of activity and that continue to produce with immense creativity. Among the artists of this panorama there is also Solarstone, who like many, began his musical journey towards the end of the 90s, but today it reveals itself as an intense and beautiful musical story to tell.

The first thing to say is that Rich Mowatt, unlike some producers who wanted to try to follow different musical paths in the EDM field, has never felt the need to compromise in this way, indeed, in 2012 he founded Pure Trance Recordings label, his new concept of this musical genre: his works and remixes called as Pure Mix debuted on the Pure Trance Recordings label in 2012 and described a style of trance that had been set aside over the years, characterized by dreamlike atmospheres typical of the first experiments of melodic trance of the mid-90s mixed with huge uplifting melodies: over the years a series of successful compilations and his radio show will follow, which bear the name of the homonymous label.

While he has remained one of the purest artists around for trance music, throughout his career he has still experimented with periods where we have tasted a sweeter and more reflective sound, while still remaining in a context that ties in well with the atmospheres of trance: with his latest album, Island, dating back to 2020, Rich has in fact offered us various alternatives, from ambient music to modern classic, through downtempo music up to, precisely, progressive-trance.

This philosophy has led him today to a new experiment: today the new musical adventure is called innermost, a work created over the last four years and previewed on March 21st at the Mezz Pop cafè in Breda, an invitation only for fifty chosen ones, the album has already seen its first extract, shivelight, a track that shows us all the most intimate atmospheres of the producer, fully preserving the sounds that we know.

This work is composed of ten tracks and some interesting collaborations that we can’t wait to listen to: Underground with Evan Henzi, already authors together last year with Revelation, Star together with Susie Ledge and Your Sacrifice with Clara Yates:

The complete tracklist:

  1. shivelight
  2. your sacrifice (with clara yates)
  3. over the mountains
  4. dream sequence
  5. star (with susie ledge)
  6. innermost
  7. underground (with evan henzi)
  8. sonata
