‘Carry Me Home’ with Zoë Johnston is coming next Friday: the London trio also announce a huge North American tour for an album that already feels like a piace of history
There’s no point in hiding it: Above & Beyond are doing their best to make 2025 their year.
A few weeks have passed since the announcement of their fifth studio album and Paavo, Jono and Tony are immediately showing the world the potential of this new project, which not by chance bears the name of Bigger Than All Of Us: in the meantime, the first single, with Zoë Johnston, Quicksand (Don’t Go), released on March 21st, is everything you would expect from this collaboration: a perfect, emotional, powerful vocal trance track, all characteristics that for over twenty years now, since the days of No One On Earth, have united all the songs of the Above & Beyond and Zoë Johnston partnership.
A year to remember, as mentioned, for the London trio, also because it marks their twenty-fifth anniversary, which will be celebrated on May 17th in New York with a gigantic event at The Brooklyn Mirage with an incredible Anjunabeats and Anjunadeep line-up: but for the United States and North America, 2025 branded Above & Beyond and Anjunabeats will not be limited to this: the trio has in fact just announced a celebration tour for the release of the new album, which will arrive, we remember, on July 18th: a tour that will start on August 15th in Vancouver and will end on October 14th in Mountain View, California, touching thirteen amphitheaters in thirteen different cities and tickets will be available starting from Wednesday April 30th following this link Bigger Than All Of Us US Tour.
The announcement of the tour tonight is accompanied by the news of the release of the second single from the album that will arrive this Friday, Carry Me Home, produced again with the English singer and songwriter Zoë Johnston: this track, heard during their most recent live shows, sounds different from the previous single together and closely follows in sound some tracks with a more progressive touch that Above & Beyond had accustomed us to in the era between Group Therapy and We’re All We Need album.
Bigger Than All Of Us, however, promises to be one of Above & Beyond’s best works ever created: even though it was anticipated by three huge previews heard during their DJ set at Group Therapy 600 in Mexico City last October, including Quicksand (Don’t Go), Above & Beyond have revealed several new tracks from the album in preview over the last two weekends at Coachella and it’s useless to hide the enthusiasm in listening to the new tracks together with Zoë Johnston, Justine Suissa and Richard Bedford in which clearly emerges not only an indispensable union for the group, towards the three singers, but also a clear reference to what has been their entire musical journey, made of unforgettable upliting trance records of the Tri-State/Siren Of The Sea’s era until becoming undisputed leaders of progressive-trance music, from the Group Therapy era onwards. In their new album it seems there is all of this incredibile energy:
