Following the incredible worldwide success of Children, who revolutionized ever the way of conceiving melodic trance music, released at the end of 1995, Italian artist Roberto Concina, known to everyone as Robert Miles, rode the wave of global acclaim and, toward the end of spring 1996, released the follow-up Fable on DBX Records.
The structure of the track closely reflects the characteristics of his previous hit Children: a nostalgic piano melody blended with progressive-trance and dream-house atmospheres that, throughout that year, would define not only his discography but the entire global dance scene. As the second single from the album Dreamland, Fable, although on a smaller scale compared to the legendary Children, achieved considerable worldwide success. It reached the top of the Italian singles chart and once again entered the Top 10 of the singles charts in Germany, Finland, France, Belgium, Austria, Switzerland, and the UK. In addition to the iconic original version, the single includes several versions, including one featuring vocals by Fiorella Quinn “tell me a fable …”.
Legendary Robert Miles passed away 9 May 2017, Ibiza, Spain after a strong battle with cancer.
