The new album is announced as a synthesis of their entire career, and the new track coming out on Friday is further confirmation of this
That Bigger Than All Of Us is one of the trance albums of the year certainly didn’t need confirmation. Little by little, in the lead-up to its release date on July 18th, Above & Beyond are unveiling the tracks that will make up their fifth studio album.
Together with Zoë Johnston, Paavo, Jono, and Tony have released a fantastic pair of songs to open the album: Quickand (Don’t Go) and Carry Me Home, two tracks that are different but beautiful in their own ways. The first is an exciting track, reflecting the intense trance sound of Above & Beyond, while the second is more reflective. But from their double Coachella live set last month, it was clear that the London trio wouldn’t let much time pass before releasing more tracks.
And so, this Friday, May 30th, the third single from Bigger Than All Of Us will be released: Start A Fire, featuring the legendary Richard Bedford. From the first listen, the familiar trance sound of Above & Beyond immediately grabs the ear and the heart, evoking memories of the early days of their career (it almost feels like it could’ve come from Tri-State album, 2006). It’s an exciting vocal-trance track that once again highlights the incredible synergy between the powerful trance atmospheres of Above & Beyond and Richard Bedford’s deep voice.
Their last collaboration was released last year, with Heart Of Stone, which was first played during ABGT 500 in Los Angeles in 2022: together, they have composed some of the most famous vocal trance songs ever, such as Alone Tonight (2006), Thing Called Love (2011) Northern Soul (2017) and the iconic Sun & Moon (2011).
Above & Beyond feat. Richard Bedford – Start A Fire will be released on May 30, 2025, on Anjunabeats label.
