The first decade of the 2000s represents the peak of English producer Matt Darey’s career. In 2008, he gave life to the project Urban Astronauts, an alias conceived as a meeting point between trance, progressive, and rock/indie sounds. This sonic experiment would become the foundation for many future trance remixes, but among them all, it was Evgeniy Smirnov and Sergey Klimov, better known as Aurosonic, who left an indelible mark.
In the early phase of their career, the Russian duo redefined the concept of a progressive rework, delivering one of the most iconic versions of a Matt Darey original: See The Sun. The result was a timeless masterpiece.
Thanks also to the enchanting voice of Kate Louise Smith, this track brought something genuinely new and flawless to the scene, perfectly embodying the essence of progressive trance with a truly memorable vocal break.
Sixteen years later, the Aurosonic remix of See The Sun still tops many of the genre’s classic playlists and remains a cornerstone at international trance festivals to this day.
