2006 is a great year, full of trance successes that would go on to shape the history of the genre. Among these tracks is the one written by Laurence Rapaccioli, known as Arksun. The British producer, who up until then had released several interesting productions, signed in June of that year Arisen on Armind, the Armada sub-label. This track immediately caught the attention of Armin van Buuren himself, who went on to play it almost regularly throughout his tours during that period, most notably at Armin Only 2006, and the track eventually reached fifth place in the Top 20 of the Tune of the Year poll that same year.
Arisen perfectly embodies the trance sound of that era, featuring a progressive build-up, melodic atmospheres, and an energetic drop typical of the festival style of those years. For Laurence, it was undoubtedly the most acclaimed work of his musical career, and it is still remembered today with great enthusiasm.
