After inviting his fans to guess the title of his upcoming project, the Moldovan producer and DJ is now ready to share this new musical experience
In the world of trance music, only a few producers manage to develop a deep, coherent, and truly comprehensive vision of the genre. Among them, Andrei Ion Rață, better known as Andrew Rayel, undoubtedly stands out, an artist who, over the years, has built a high-profile career by successfully balancing studio productions with powerful live performances behind the decks.
His career has long been highly regarded within the international trance scene and was strongly supported by Armin van Buuren between 2011 and 2012, when the A State Of Trance founder immediately recognized his exceptional appeal. That early confidence was later confirmed by a series of releases over the years: from Find Your Harmony (2014), his debut album that defined his early sound between the trance of that era, progressive influences, and downtempo elements, while also lending its name to his long-running radioshow and label, to Moments (2017), which introduced electro elements through various collaborations, and finally to Lifeline (2023), marking his full artistic maturity and showcasing an Andrew Rayel closer than ever to his current style.
A style that now clearly reflects his defining trademark: melodic trance at its core, driven by energetic synths and often enriched with classical and orchestral influences. When blended together, these elements create live performances that are frequently euphoric, emotional, and deeply engaging.
It is precisely from these foundations that Andrew Rayel appears to have drawn inspiration for his fourth studio album, Extasia, recently announced and described by the producer himself as “an album made for trance lovers”:
While an official tracklist has yet to be revealed, Andrew has already teased the project’s first single, Chasing The Unknown, set for release soon and representing just one of the many creative ideas behind this new body of work, an album that holds particular significance for Rayel.
The title of this new project will also serve as the alias the Moldovan DJ and producer will use for the 25th anniversary celebrations of A State Of Trance, taking place on February 27 and 28: his performance will be on Saturday, February 28, at Ahoy Rotterdam, where Rayel will dedicate significant time to tracks from his new album.
