In 2013, Brian Transeau entered a new chapter of his career, embracing the progressive-trance sound that defined that period while preserving the melodic sensibility and rich synth textures that have always been central to his musical identity.
Released via Armada Digital and featured on the album A Song Across Wires, Skylarking showcases BT’s refined approach to progressive trance, unfolding as a deep and immersive journey that rewards attentive listening from beginning to end. The track’s expansive atmosphere and evolving structure highlight the American producer’s ability to create emotional depth without sacrificing musical sophistication.
Accompanied by a visually striking music video filled with snow-covered landscapes, northern lights and a strong sense of exploration, Skylarking further enhances its evocative character. The track resonated strongly with the trance community, earning the #15 spot in the A State Of Trance Top 20 of 2013, as voted by listeners, and was also included in the A State Of Trance 2013 compilation.
Later on, Skylarking was remixed by iLan Bluestone and Maor Levi, who reworked the track by adding a more energetic, dancefloor-oriented edge.
