The synergy of this now well-established trio finds new inspiration in a historic track: the result is a captivating version, to be released on the Dutch label on Friday 24, April
We might risk sounding repetitive: yet, almost every day, within the trance music landscape, there are clear signs that 2026 will mark a drastic shift for the genre and its forms: every move made by artists seems to carry the meaning of something new. Among these developments, we have noticed how Musical Freedom Records, Tiësto’s label founded in 2014, is strongly encouraging the inclusion, beyond “younger” trance sounds, of established artists as well: we have already discussed the arrival of Bryan Kearney; now it’s time to add more names to the list.
It’s now Leon Bolier’s turn with his well-known alias BLR: a project perfectly aligned with the progressive and trance direction that Tiësto has been embracing in recent times. The collaboration with Amber Revival is now far more than a one-off: it began in 2024 under the name Leon Bolier with Wearing The Darkness, and fully took off last year with the hit Love Me Endless; since then, a continuous run of releases has followed, including the energetic Feeling Good, I Miss You In The Nights and, just a few weeks ago, Untouchable. Tracks that blend rhythms and sounds between progressive house and trance, enhancing the voices of Arie and Netta, now among the most recognizable and established in the trance scene; not to mention the parallel techno/house project AMRV by Amber Revival, where BLR has once again joined forces with them, with tracks such as the very recent My Friend and Look What You’ve Done: in short, an undeniably winning team
On Friday, April 24, their new collaboration will therefore be released on Musical Freedom: Cause You’re Mine: the track, first heard during historical Tiësto’s DJ set at the Great Pyramids of Giza last December and played again live during Amber Revival’s set at Ahoy Rotterdam on February 28, for the A State of Trance ELEVATION event, also played by Tiësto himself during the last episode of Prismatic 016: is a tribute to I Put a Spell on You by Screamin’ Jay Hawkins, originally released in 1956. A classic that became famous over the decades thanks to numerous reinterpretations, including the 1965 version by Nina Simone and the intense, modern rendition by Annie Lennox in 2014; within the electronic dance scene, the 1998 cover by Sonique also remains particularly well known.
Now, BLR and Amber Revival return with a new elegant and contemporary reinterpretation: a version that confirms the signature sound and atmosphere of their collaboration, balancing electronic dance and progressive, now established as one of the most solid and recognizable partnerships in the scene.
