The first collaboration between the Irish producer and the British singer-songwriter is arriving soon, and it’s already shaping up to be something special
In recent years, we have witnessed what can be defined as the most exciting period of Paul Webster’s career: a long-established journey that has recently undergone a radical transformation and a clear evolution; much of this renewed success is also due to a strong fan base, capable of recognizing and embracing the DJ’s new musical direction. Today, Webster preserves a clearly defined sound: a complete style rooted in melodic trance and driven by a deep rhythmic foundation; a new artistic phase that undoubtedly began with his 2023 remix of Rest Of Our Lives by Ben Gold, which achieved an almost unexpected level of acclaim. The definitive confirmation then came with Holding The Light: a track that had been circulating for years before its release last year, originally by Bo Bruce and reimagined in a perfect uplifting trance key; quite possibly one of the most played and appreciated tracks of the past twelve months.
Over the course of this year, he has stayed on the same trajectory with Live Forever, created alongside Yasmine Jane; and yet, his creative drive hinted at even more to come.
Flame That Never Dies emerges precisely from this evolution: the result of a collaboration with the renowned Christina Novelli: the track had already been circulating for some time in the Irish producer’s DJ sets; however, its title was officially revealed only during episode 1273 of A State Of Trance, in the second hour dedicated to guest mixes, with Webster as guest.
From the very first listen, the track showcases a high level of quality: Novelli’s contribution stands out clearly, as her vocal performance enhances and amplifies the energy of the drop; the melodic structure is simple yet highly impactful, an element that has recently become a true winning formula for Paul Webster.
This is a new collaboration, yet clearly one that has developed over time: another important step in Christina Novelli’s artistic journey, as in recent years she has worked with numerous producers and across various labels, alternating between vocal performances and co-productions; a complete artist with a distinctive voice, who released her second album It’s Not Me, It’s You two years ago, following her 2019 acoustic project, further solidifying her place within the electronic trance scene.
No official release date has been announced yet: however, the wait is unlikely to be long, It will be released on Muse Music Records, the label founded by Christina Novelli herself: Flame That Never Dies is shaping up to be one of the standout vocal trance tracks of the year.
