The Dutch DJ and producer, who recently emerged victorious from the lengthy legal battle that restored ownership of the legendary Dash Berlin alias, captivated the Mainstage crowd at Ultra Europe in Croatia last night. Over the past few months, we have covered the complex legal dispute surrounding the Dash Berlin name, which recently concluded in Jeffrey Sutorius‘ favor, allowing him to once again perform under the iconic alias responsible for some of trance’s biggest anthems of the late 2000s and early 2010s. The news not only generated widespread attention but also reignited excitement among fans eager to see Jeffrey Sutorius reunited with the legendary project.
It marks another nostalgic moment in what has already been a 2026 filled with remarkable comebacks across the trance scene. After several turbulent years, the Dutch DJ and producer is now ready to begin a new chapter in his career. Last night in Split, Croatia, he officially celebrated this new era with a highly anticipated performance on the Ultra Europe mainstage.
The set was especially anticipated as it featured the premiere of his new collaboration with Canadian guitarist and singer Simon Ward, Lonely Man, which opened the performance. The track immediately recalls the emotional sound that made Dash Berlin one of the genre’s most beloved names. Simon Ward is already well known within the trance scene for his collaborations with Armin van Buuren, including Love We Lost with R3HAB and Hey (I Miss You). The result is an emotional progressive production with a familiar Dash Berlin signature, set to be released on July 17 via Reliant Music, accompanied by an energetic Club Mix.
Throughout the performance, Dash Berlin once again showcased his refined musical vision, blending trance, progressive and EDM while seamlessly connecting past and present. Alongside several unreleased IDs, he also played some of the productions released under the restored Dash Berlin alias, including Coming Home with Bo Bruce and With You featuring Matt Simons. One of the most emotional moments of the night came with Waiting, his iconic 2009 collaboration with Emma Hewitt, performed in a special reworked version created exclusively for the occasion.
