Dropping Friday, October 3rd on Armada Music in two exciting versions, including a melodic comeback of the legendary Rising Star sound
As we move into the final stretch of the year, post-summer releases are beginning to drop, tracks that have been played and heard at the biggest festivals around the globe throughout 2025: while some of these tracks may only truly gain traction in the coming months, the new Armin van Buuren track, called Set Me Free is poised to make an immediate impact.
The collaboration has been highly anticipated since its premiere during Armin’s set on the ASOT Stage at Ultra Music Festival Miami on March 28th: that performance served as a showcase for many of Armin’s 2025 highlights, including unreleased gems already released or still to come. Among them was Set Me Free, featuring vocals from Scottish singer SACHA (Sacha Taylor), who chose Armin as her collaborator earlier this year.
Over the summer, the track has made its way across global stages, from Untold to Tomorrowland, and of course, A State of Trance, where SACHA herself performed it live alongside the Dutch trance legend.
Set Me Free will be available in two versions: an captivating trance version Extended Mix that “runs” at 143 bpm, and a more melodic second version that features the iconic Rising Star touch, a sound that fans immediately recognize. For longtime listeners, the name Rising Star evokes classics like Touch Me (1999) and the legendary remix of Burned With Desire of Armin himself (2003). The last time Armin released under this alias was in 2020 with The Voice, feat. Cari.
Set Me Free is yet another testament to Armin van Buuren’s creative versatility and enduring commitment to trance, while also showcasing his ability to reinvent himself without being confined to one style.
