Drawing inspiration from the format of his radioshow Prismatic, Tiësto showcased in a 90-minute set a clear overview of today’s modern trance trends, increasingly intertwined with the influences of 1990s trance, delivering a powerful and highly impactful performance, while also played for the first time ‘Don’t Lose Your Head’ with Olivia Sebastianelli, the third single from his upcoming album
And in the end, Tiësto returned to EDC Las Vegas, taking over the circuitGROUNDS stage for his highly anticipated set, exactly one year after that celebrated In Search Of Sunrise performance which, in many ways, had laid the foundations for what would happen just a few months later: the return to the sound that made him a legend in trance music between the late 1990s and the end of the 2000s decade.
No further confirmation was really needed; however, watching the show was also interesting in order to analyze the trend currently shaping contemporary trance music, a movement that Tiësto’s return is both supporting and perfectly representing: as already revealed yesterday, the event also became the chosen stage for the launch of his new single, the third track from the new album scheduled for release in 2026.
Finally heard in its full version, Don’t Lose Your Head with Olivia Sebastianelli, set for release on May 29, comes across as an energetic and strongly “global” record; succeeding the elegant Beautiful Places with Brieanna Grace while instead embracing the energetic impact of Bring Me To Life with FORS: the track opened the set, which aired from 12:15 AM to 1:45 AM Las Vegas time.
The entire performance, as mentioned, fully reflected the current trends of modern trance, the same ones that also find wide space within the Prismatic radioshow: Tiësto is strongly supporting the new generation of artists bringing back the fast and melodic trance sound of the mid 1990s and early 2000s. During the set, new productions from Benwal, S3PPA, CIELLL and Deveraux were featured, alongside the already well known 1999 and Heaven (with JOKESONYOU) by Matty Ralph.
There was also room for tracks from legendary trance artists currently contributing to the return of old school sounds: among them, the LAWTON alias of Ben Gold with Los Retratos alongside Deckers, as well as Ready To Fly by Bryan Kearney and Modeā, already considered by many as one of the most influential trance tracks of 2026.
The uplifting trance moment featuring Remember The Future by Mirage project was also particularly significant: a track that appears to be especially appreciated by Tiësto and which, in our opinion, represented one of the highest moments of the entire set.
Naturally, plenty of space was also dedicated to his more recent productions: the already known yet still unreleased Echo Sax, performed live together with saxophonist Caleb Arrendodo, who also appeared during the remix of Infinity by Guru Josh, alongside Moons Orbit and Lost In The Ocean: considerable attention was also given to his recent series of remixes dedicated to trance classics and beyond, including Forever by Dee Dee, Sunrise (Here I Am) by Ratty and No Regular by Ricky Fobis, just to name a few.
